I order the xxl puppy pads and they are still the best you can buy for the quality and price anywhere. Sometimes when you shake them to open them to lie flat, the white pad part splits from the blue backing and the fluff comes out, but that doesn't happen often.

I have two chihuahuas, and you would think that the smaller pads would work fine. However both of them don't necessary stand still when doing their business. So the larger pads work great rather than doubling up and overlapping the smaller thinner ones.

My dogs are in blocked off area so I keep floor covered just in case. Worst problem is they go outside and come in to clean pee pee pads and think they need to use them. We get such a laugh when they do that. Fortunately it is not difficult to clean them up.
